 Overview

In this 19 month project with Verizon, we performed research, designed, and built a free EdTech platform for K-12 teachers that offers cross-disciplinary curriculums that integrate emerging technologies into the classroom. Since launching, the platform has exceeded expectations and almost doubled the reach of Verizon’s education programs.

Role

Over the course of this project I transitioned from an individual contributor role to leading a team of four designers. Throughout the project I worked closely with our internal Product, Engineering, and Content Strategy teams as well as our clients and their content partners.

Aside from hands-on design work and leading the design team, I worked closely with Product and clients to prioritize work, with Content Strategy and content partners to ensure designs accommodated the content, with Engineering to bring designs to life, and with Analytics to optimize KPIs post-launch.

Outcome

Over the course of this project we talked to over 100 educators, built a visual sub-brand specific to the platform, designed, built and launched a public facing website with hundreds of pieces of content from over a dozen content partners and an internal content management platform for content partners to add and modify their content. Within 6 months of launching we’d reached 430,000 students through the teachers using the platform, exceeding the client’s expectations.
